PropaLab Celebrates Major NSFC 2026 Funding Success

We are thrilled to announce a landmark achievement for the research community at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and the Second Clinical Medical College of Zhengzhou University, where our very own PropaLab (Protein and PainLab) is proudly based.

In the 2026 funding cycle of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) , our institution secured a total of 9 prestigious research grants. This outstanding result underscores the high caliber of scientific inquiry taking place here, and we are incredibly honored to be part of this vibrant ecosystem.

A Personal Milestone for PropaLab

We are especially delighted to share that Dr. Abdul Nasir, Founder and Principal Investigator of PropaLab, has been awarded the esteemed Research Fund for International Scientists (外国学者研究基金项目) . This recognition is a testament to the international relevance of our work and the innovative approaches we bring to the intersection of protein biology and pain mechanisms.

“Receiving this NSFC grant is a significant milestone, not just for me personally, but for the entire PropaLab team. This funding will empower us to push deeper into the molecular underpinnings of pain pathways and protein interactions. Our goal is to bridge fundamental protein science with translational pain therapeutics, and this support brings us one step closer to that vision. I am truly honored to work alongside such brilliant colleagues at Zhengzhou University.”
