Dr. Abdul Nasir
Biography
Dr. Abdul Nasir is the Principal Investigator and Founder of the Protein & Pain Research (PROPA) Lab. He is currently serving as a Research Fellow at Zhengzhou University, China, where he also completed his Postdoctoral training at the Medical Research Center, Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. Dr. Nasir earned his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from Ajou University, South Korea, specializing in protein design and computational modeling.
Research Focus
His research integrates molecular biotechnology, neuroscience, and computational biology to uncover the molecular basis of pain, rare genetic disorders, and metabolic dysfunction. He focuses on:
- Identifying novel genes and non-coding RNAs involved in pain modulation.
- Developing protein- and nanozyme-based therapeutics for precision medicine.
- Advancing enzyme catalysis, bioinformatics, and translational neuroscience by combining experimental and computational approaches.

As a young scientist and emerging research leader, Dr. Nasir is actively engaged in several international scientific communities. He is the co-founder of ScholarTalk and the Scholarship & Counseling Café and has served as President of the Pakistani Students and Scholars Association in South Korea.
