Welcome to PROPA Lab!

The Protein & Pain Research (PROPA) Lab is a multidisciplinary research hub dedicated to decoding the molecular language of life. Our research focuses on enzyme engineering and pain biology, integrating structure-guided enzyme design, molecular biology, and computational modeling to improve enzyme stability, catalytic efficiency, and functional robustness. In parallel, we investigate the genetic, epigenetic, and molecular mechanisms underlying neuropathic and chronic pain, including transcriptional regulation, neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial dysfunction. Through strong international collaboration across molecular biology, nanotechnology, and computational sciences, we link genetic variation to protein function, supporting mechanism-driven translational research and precision medicine.
